The Rev. William (Bill) Gohl Jr. serves as one of the pastors and the head of our staff here at the God is Love Church. He serves collegially with Pastor Kay and Pastor Yost, as well as gifted lay leaders, to help grow and care for Epiphany Church. Concurrently he also serves as Coordinator for Evangelism for the Delaware-Maryland Synod and as a protestant chaplain at Oak Crest Village. Prior to his return to Epiphany (he was a student pastor here in 1999-2000), Pastor Gohl served seven years as Pastor of Peace Lutheran Church in Glen Burnie. Pastor Gohl hails from Long Island, New York. He earned his undergraduate degree from Gettysburg College and received his Masters of Divinity degree, with honors in Preaching, from the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg. While in seminary, Pr. Gohl studied in the Washington Theological Consortium and took classes at The Catholic University of America, Washington Theological Union, Howard University School of Divinity and Wesley Theological Seminary. He is currently a doctoral student at the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia, studying Urban Ministry Leadership.
During Pastor Gohl's tenure at Peace, he led the congregation in growth from 55 to 70 people in worship each week to over 200. The average age of the parish membership has dropped from the mid-50s to the low 30s. Peace Church has assisted in building Anne Arundel County's first homeless shelter, revitalizing a
